Petitioner Association has come up with this Writ Petition seeking a direction to Respondents 2 to 5, to provide uninterrupted water supply with additional water supply connection to their members residing at Thirumangalam, Anna Nagar Division under the control of the 4th Respondent forthwith, and for a consequential direction to Respondents 1 to 4 to take appropriate steps to provide basic amenities by considering their representation dated 06.07.2021.

According to the Petitioner Association, their members are employees of the High Court, Madras and other Departments of the State Government and that, totally 606 members are residing in the residential Quarters of the Tamil Nadu Housing Board at Thirumangalam, Chennai. It is the case of the Petitioner that, as regards shortage of supply of water to the residential Quarters at Thirumangalam, Chennai, they made a representation to the Respondents 1 and 2 herein on 06.07.2021 and that, the same is pending without consideration. Learned counsel for the Petitioner submitted that, this Court may issue a direction to the 2nd Respondent herein to consider the case of the members of the Petitioner Association as regards uninterrupted water supply to their residential Quarters at Thirumangalam, Chennai.

Learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the Respondents submitted that, the Petitioner's representation will be considered by the 2nd Respondent within a stipulated period.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and taking note of the submissions of the learned counsel on either side, this Court directs the 2nd Respondent herein to consider the Petitioner's representation dated 06.07.2021 in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the Petitioner, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs. Consequently, connected W.M.P.No.23329 of 2021 is closed.
