Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to revise the list of Deputy Tahsildars for the year 2008 for Namakkal District, approved in Pro.Roc.No.47771/2008-1/A2 dated 02.1.2009 of the 2nd respondent, by way of implementation of Judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India dated 8.4.2009 in S.L.P.No.9628/2006 and 8848/2008 (Civil Appeal Nos.2251 and 2252/2009) and include the name of the petitioner (Promotee Graduate Assistant) therein in the appropriate place therein and to give retrospective effect to his promotion as Deputy Tahsildar with all consequential service and monetary benefits. ORDER

Heard the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner, as well as the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents.

This Writ Petition has been filed praying that this Court may be pleased to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to revise the list of Deputy Tahsildars for the year, 2008, for Namakkal District, as per the Judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court, dated 8.4.2009, in S.L.P.Nos.9628/2006 and 8848/2008 (Civil Appeal Nos.2251 and 2252/2009) and to include the name of the petitioner in the appropriate place as per his seniority.

At this stage of the hearing of the Writ Petition, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents had placed before this Court, a communication, dated 28.06.2012, issued by the District Collector, Namakkal District, which reads as follows:- "The petitioner Thiru.K.Thangaraju in his petitions dated 20.04.2010, 20.08.2010, 06.09.2010 and 12.07.2011 has made representation that his name would be included in the list of Deputy Tahsildar Panel for the year 2008 by implementing the judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India dated 08.04.2009 in S.L.P.2006.

In this regard, the Commissioner of Revenue Administration has issued instruction in Circular No.07/2012. Ser.3(4)99429/2009 dated 22.06.2012 directing all the District Collectors to take immediate steps to redraw the panel of Deputy Tahsildars from 4.12.1978 as per the order of the Hon'ble Madurai Bench of Madras High Court dated 9.3.2012 in W.A.Nos.1285 to 1290 of 2011 following strict seniority as per rules."

4. In view of the aforesaid communication of the District Collector, Namakkal District, dated 28.6.2012, no further orders are necessary in the present Writ Petition. Hence, the Writ Petition stands closed. No costs.
