Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to dispose the application of the petitioner dated 22.06.2016 and reminder dated 27.09.2021 by issuing community certificate to the petitioner and his daughters viz., 1) K.S.Rachutha, 2) S.Sharmidha and 3) S.Dishitha.

(The Order of the Court was made by K.KALYANASUNDARAM, J) The Writ Petition is heard through video conferencing.

2. Heard Mr.V.Elangovan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.T.N.C.Kaushik, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent.

3. The petitioner has come up with this Writ Petition, seeking a direction to the respondent to dispose of the application of the petitioner dated 22.08.2016 and the reminder dated 27.09.2021.

4. The petitioner would state that he belongs to Kurumans Community and he presented an application before the respondent on 22.08.2016 for issuance of a Community Certificate to his daughters, viz., 1) K.S.Rachutha, 2) S.Sharmidha and 3) S.Dishitha. He also made an application to the District Collector on 20.01.2020 on public grievance day for issuance of https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the Community Certificate. Subsequently, he sent a reminder on 27.09.2021. Despite the same, no action has been taken so far, hence, the present Writ Petition.

5. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would state that it would suffice if a suitable direction is issued to the respondent to pass orders on the application of the petitioner.

6. The learned Government Counsel appearing for the respondent submitted that the application of the petitioner will be considered and orders will be passed in accordance with law.

7. In the light of the limited scope of the prayer sought for in the Writ Petition and the submissions of the learned counsels appearing for both sides, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the respondent to consider the application of the petitioner dated 22.08.2016 and the reminder dated 27.09.2021 and pass orders in accordance with law within a period of three months, after affording ample opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner.

8. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
