PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to direct the 1st respondent to issue a passport to the petitioner through dispose-off the petitioners passport application No.MA 1061898162319, dated 20.02.2019 in accordance with law.

O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for a mandamus seeking for a direction to direct the first respondent to issue a passport to the petitioner based on the petitioner's Passport Application dated 20.02.2019.

2.Heard Mr.R.Sankarasubbu, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.Ramamoorthy, learned Central Government Standing Counsel for the first respondent and Mr.K.Parameshwaran, learned Government Advocate for the second respondent. 3.Mr.K.Parameshwaran, learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of the second respondent.

4.Mr.K.Parameshwaran, learned Central Government Standing Counsel for the first respondent on instructions would submit that the petitioner's Passport Application dated 20.02.2019 has been closed. He would submit that if the petitioner submits a fresh application for renewal of his Passport, the same will be considered by the first respondent on merits and in accordance with law within a time stipulated by this Court. For this submission, the learned counsel for the petitioner is also satisfied.

5.For the foregoing reasons and after recording the submissions made by the respective counsels, this Court directs the petitioner to submit a fresh application seeking for renewal of his Passport with the first respondent within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of the said application, the first respondent shall pass final orders on the said application on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks thereafter. 6.With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
