This petition has been filed to enlarge the petitioner on bail in Spl. CC No. 170 of 2022 pending on the file of Additional District Judge/Presiding Officer, Special Court for Essential Commodities Act cases, Coimbatore District.

2. The case of the prosecution is that on 04.09.2022, at about 13.00 hours, the respondent police on secret information was keeping watch and conducting vehicle checkup an at that time, one Innove Crysta Car bearing registration No. TN49-BL-5050 had come there and it was intercepted. On search, the respondent police had found that A1 to A4 were present in the vehicle and they were in possession of 21.300 kgs of Ganja which is a commercial quantity. Hence, the case.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also the fact that the contraband seized from the petitioner is commercial quantity. Hence, this Court is not inclined to allow this petition. However, considering the period of incarceration undergone by the petitioner, the Trial Court is directed to complete the Trial within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Accordingly, this petition is dismissed.
