Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of Criminal Procedure Code, prating to direct the 3rd respondent, the Inspector of Police, Dindivanam Town Police Station, Dindivanam Taluk, Villupuram District, to give police protection to the petitioner's village temple Sri Muthalamman Aalayam, Olakkur Village and Post, Dindivanam on 02.08.2019, at 09.00 a.m., to 01.00 p.m., for conducting the Temple Car (Chariot) festival and consider the petitioner representation on 22.07.2019.

O R D E R

This petition has been filed to direct the 3rd respondent, the Inspector of Police, Dindivanam Town Police Station, Dindivanam Taluk, Villupuram District, to give police protection to the petitioner's village temple Sri Muthalamman Aalayam, Olakkur Village and Post, Dindivanam on 02.08.2019, at 09.00

a.m., to 01.00 p.m., for conducting the Temple Car (Chariot) festival and consider the petitioner representation on 22.07.2019.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the Temple Car (Chariot) festival is being conducted on 02.08.2019, between 09.00 a.m., to 01.00 p.m., at Sri Muthalamman Aalayam, Olakkur Village and Post, Dindivanam. The petitioner had given a representation dated 22.07.2019 to the first respondent seeking for permission and the same has not been considered till date. Therefore, the present petition has been filed.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the petitioner will have to abide by the conditions that are imposed by the respondent police, while conducting the procession.

4. Taking into consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court is inclined to direct the third respondent to grant permission and adequate police protection to celebrate the Temple Car (Chariot) festival at "Sri Muthalamman Aalayam, Olakkur Village and Post, Dindivanam, on 02.08.2019, between 09.00 a.m., to 01.00 p.m.

5. It is made clear that the respondent police is at liberty to impose any conditions to ensure the peaceful conduct of the Temple Car (Chariot) festival and the petitioner is bound to comply with the same.

6. Accordingly, the Criminal Original petition is disposed of with the above direction.
