Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to sanction the financial assistance as per Plan II of Chief Minister's Girl Child Protection Scheme, to the petitioner within a time frame fixed by this Court.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner claims that she belongs to Backward Class community and out of the wedlock with Mr.V.T.Arumugam, she was blessed with two female children, viz., A.Harshitha and A.Sadhana Shree, born on 03.08.2005 and 08.09.2011 respectively. The petitioner would state that her husband is working as a Data Entry Operator and the petitioner is a home maker and during 2013, she came to know about the scheme, viz., The Hon'ble Chief Minister's Girl Child Protection Scheme and as per the said scheme, the parents who have two girl children and hailing from poor family and whose annual income is below Rs.24,000/- per annum, are eligible to avail the benefits under the scheme in the form of financial assistance of cash deposit of Rs.50,000/- in the case of single girl child and Rs.

25,000/- to each of the girl child, if there are two girl children and the said deposit would be made for 18 years and on its maturity, the concerned girl child/children should receive the benefit of the said deposits. Though the petitioner has submitted an application within the period of three years on 08.04.2013, no response is forthcoming. The petitioner has repeatedly approached the respondents in the form of representations as well as under the Right to Information Act, 2005 and the Directorate of Social Welfare, vide communication dated 29.04.2016 in Na.Ka.No.

013429/Fe-3/2016, has directed the 3rd respondent to bestow his special attention and take appropriate action on the petitioner's application and inform them and despite that, no orders have been passed and the petitioner in this regard, has also submitted a representation dated 29.06.2016 to the Hon'ble Chief Minister Grievance Cell and in spite of that, her grievance is yet to be redressed and hence, the petitioner came forward to file the present writ petition.

3. Heard the submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner ; Mr.S.Pattabiraman, learned Government Advocate who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 3 and Mr.M.Perumal, learned Government Advocate who accepts notice on behalf of the 4th respondent.

4. Though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the above facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the same, directs the 3rd respondent to act on the communication of the 2nd respondent dated 29.04.2016 made in Na.Ka.No.013429/Fe-3/2016 and pass orders within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.

5. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
