ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed seeking police protection to conduct Paalkudam procession from Mariyamman Temple to Thandumariyamman Temple on 28.07.2024 at Thandumariyamman Temple situated at Kazhanipakkam Village, Cheyyar Taluk,

2. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the 1st and 2nd respondents submits that since two groups make rival claims to lead the procession. The peace committee meeting been convened today (25.07.2024) by the Tahsildhar, Cheyyur Taluk, Thiruvannamalai District, subject to the outcome of the peace committee meeting, permission will be granted.

3. Taking note of the fact that two groups claim priority for conducting the procession, the Tahsildhar shall take appropriate decision and permit both the groups on different dates to conduct the procession if there is no consensus arrived in the peace committee meeting.

4. With the above direction, Writ Petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.
