ORDER

The petitioner, who apprehends arrest for the alleged offences under Sections 4(1)(i) of Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act read with Section 4(1)(A) of Tamil Nadu Prohibition (Amendment) Act 2024 in Crime No.81 of 2026, on the file of the respondent police seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner was found in possession of 15 nos. of 180 ml bottles of liquor. Hence the case.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent and she has nothing to do with the commission of offence as alleged by the prosecution. The learned counsel would further submit that the petitioner, who is A1, being a woman, is ready and willing to abide by any condition that may be imposed by this Court. Hence prays to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. At this juncture, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police strongly objected to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner by reiterating the prosecution case.

5. Heard the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

6. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court is not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on anticipatory bail.

7. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 17-06-2026 MJS Note:
