O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by G.Jayachandran J.) The petitioner herein claims that she belongs to Valluvan Community, which is recognized as per the Constitution (Pondicherry) Scheduled Castes Order 1964. She and her parents are permanent residents of Puducherry. Though her husband also belongs to the Valluvan Community, he does not possess the required proof for his origin. Hence, based on her origin and community certificate, she prays for issuance of community certificates to her son and daughter, as they belong to the Scheduled Castes community.

2. The Learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the applications made by the petitioner are under consideration in the light of the Presidential Order dated 05.03.1964; the subsequent Circulars and Official Memorandums issued from time to time. Based on the judicial pronouncements rendered so far, necessary decision will be taken on her applications in accordance with law.

3. Recording the above submission, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the 2nd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of eight Page Nos.2/5

weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
