Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to provide appointment to the petitioner herein on compassionate grounds commensurate with her qualification pursuant to the death of her husband Late R. Srinivasan on 07.07.2023 while in harness based on her application dated 18.12.2023.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for a direction directing the respondents to provide appointment to the petitioner on compassionate ground.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.

3. The petitioner's husband was working as Junior Clerk/Writer in the office of the third respondent. While being so, he died, while he was in service, on 07.07.2023 leaving behind the petitioner, his minor son and his mother. Within a period of five months from the date of his demise, the petitioner applied for appointment on compassionate ground. On receipt of the application, the third respondent passed a resolution and forwarded the same to the second respondent. However, it is still pending with the second respondent. The petitioner is qualified with M.Sc (Psycology).

4. In view of the above, the second respondent is directed to pass orders to appoint the petitioner on compassionate ground in a suitable post within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
