Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for a writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to dispose the revision filed under Section 153 of the Tamil Nadu Cooperative Societies Act, 1983 by the petitioner on 08.05.2019 within a stipulated time.

ORDER

The prayer sought for herein is for a writ of mandamus to direct the first respondent to dispose the revision filed under Section 153 of the Tamil Nadu Cooperative Societies Act, 1983 by the petitioner on 08.05.2019 within a stipulated time.

2. The petitioner, as against the order dated 20.12.2018 passed by the second respondent has preferred an appeal by way of revision under Section 153 of the Tamil Nadu Cooperative Societies Act, 1983 to the appellate authority i.e., the second respondent on 08.05.2019 and the said revision since has not been decided so far, he filed the present writ petition seeking limited prayer to give a direction to the second respondent to decide the said revision at an early date on merits and in accordance with law.

3. Reiterating the aforesaid, Ms.R.Hemalatha, learned counsel

appearing for the petitioner would submit that, if a direction is given to that effect to the second respondent, it would suffice for the petitioner.

Heard Mr.J.C.Durairaj, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, who would submit that, if the revision filed by the petitioner dated 08.05.2019 is not so far been disposed by the second respondent, it would be disposed of on merits by the second respondent within a time frame that may be stipulated by this Court,, he contended.

Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for in this writ petition and having regard to the said submission made by the learned counsel appearing for both sides, this Court is inclined to dispose of this writ petition with the following order:  That there shall be a direction to the second respondent to decide and dispose the revision filed by the petitioner dated 08.05.2019 and communicate the order to the petitioner within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
