O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.) This Contempt Petition has been filed to punish the respondents for having committed an act of contempt of the order dated 31.08.2023 in W.P.No.25714 of 2023.

Mr.S.Rajesh, the learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondents would submit that a letter addressed by the District Forest Officer to the Commissioner of Land Administration to consider the application seeking re-classification is pending. 3.

The Commissioner of Land Administration shall dispose of the petition with reference to the Forest Act, provided if he has got jurisdiction under the provisions of the Act and Rules. After disposal of the said application, the District Forest Officer is directed to initiate all appropriate action to remove the encroachments.

With the above directions, the contempt petition stands closed. However, petitioner is at liberty to move appropriate application for restoration of contempt petition, if the order has not been complied with.
