ORDER
By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 2.The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the 4th respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 19.05.2025 in accordance with law and to issue patta in favour of petitioner in respect of Patta Nos.366 and 540, comprised in Nansai S.Nos.167.6, 168/9, 169/3, 179/8206/9, 221/5, 221/12, 221/18 and Punsai S.No.207/1, measuring an extent of 84 cents, situated at Pudhupakkam Village, Vandalur Taluk, Chengalpattu District. 3.It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that petitioner's father is the absolute owner of the above mentioned property and he died on 08.04.1961. petitioner has been in continuous possession and enjoyment of the same. It is further submitted that in the year 1974, 4th respondent issued Patta No.366 on 08.07.1974 and Patta No.540 on 09.07.1974 in favour of petitioner's deceased father viz., Singaram. Petitioner submitted a representation dated 19.05.2025 to the respondents to transfer the patta in his name. However, the above representation has not been considered by the respondents till date. Aggrieved by the same, petitioner has come before this Court.
4.At the outset, learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents submits that petitioner may have to submit an online application for issuance of patta. He further submits that if such an application is submitted in the appropriate manner/prescribed format and upon payment of appropriate fees, the same would be considered and orders would be passed in accordance with law within the time frame to be fixed by this Court, which was agreed to by the learned counsel for petitioner.

5.In view thereof, the writ petition stands disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to submit an online application for issuance of patta in appropriate manner in prescribed format, if any, and on payment of appropriate fees. If any such application is filed by the petitioner, the concerned respondent shall consider and dispose of the same after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, and any other interested party/rival claimants, if any, within a period of 8 weeks from the date of filing of such application by the petitioner. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the matter and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the matter on its own merits and in accordance with law. No costs.
