The above writ petition is filed for the following relief: "To issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus calling for the records of the impugned order passed by the 1st respondent vide Rc. No. 3038/ MM1/ 2023 dated 06.02.2024 and quash the same and consequently direct the respondents to grant an extension of lease to the petitioner in the quarry site situated at SF No. 118 /2 (part) admeasuring 1.50.0 Hectares situated in Moolakkadu Village Mettur Taluk for a period of 2 Years 11 Months considering the period during which the quarry was not in operation for no fault of the petitioner."

2. Heard the learned counsels on either side and perused the materials available on record.

3. Since an alternate remedy is available as per Section 36(c) of the Mines and Minerals Act, the petitioner shall file an appeal within a period of 30 days from the receipt of a copy of this order. The period taken for prosecuting the writ petition shall be excluded for calculating limitation.

4. With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of . There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
