The petitioners, who apprehend arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 294(b), 323, 324 and 506(ii) of IPC r/w Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2022 in Crime No.217 of 2022 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that there is civil dispute between the petitioners' family and the defacto complainant's family, due to which, the petitioners abused the defacto complainant in filthy language, assaulted her with deadly weapons, threatened her with dire consequences, harassed her and also caused injuries to her. Hence, the complaint.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners are innocent persons and they have not committed any such offence as alleged by the prosecution and they have been falsely 1/3

implicated in this case. Therefore, he prays to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) would submit that the petitioners attacked the defacto complainant and caused grievous injuries and she is still in hospital and taking treatment. Hence, he vehemently opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Taking into consideration the facts and submissions of the learned Counsel and also the fact that the injured is still in hospital, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

6. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 30.08.2022 vv 2/3
