ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the Principal District and Sessions Judge at Tiruvallur, to consider the petitioners' bail application sympathetically and pass orders on merits on the same day of their surrender, in connection with Cr.No.97 of 2026, pending on the file of the respondent police.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners, and the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) for the respondent.

3. The case of the prosecution is that the de facto complainant, who belongs to Scheduled Caste Community, entered into an inter-caste marriage with one Neelakandan, who belongs to the Naidu Community, in the year 2018. It is alleged that when the de facto complainant visited the house of her father-in-law, the petitioners abused her by referring to her caste-name, thereby subjecting her to caste-based humiliation.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners have been falsely implicated in the present case.

5. In view of the above factual position, there shall be a direction to the Principal District and Sessions Judge at Tiruvallur to consider the petitioners'

bail application, preferably on the same day of their surrender, in connection with Crime No.97 of 2026 on the file of the respondent Police and to pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity to the victims under Section 15-A of the SC/ST (PoA) Act, 1989. The petitioners shall surrender before the jurisdictional Court concerned within a period of fifteen days from the date of the receipt of a copy of this order.

6. The Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of accordingly. 22-06-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order PVS To
