ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by V.SIVAGNANAM, J.] This habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to produce the person and body of the petitioner's son Shankar, male, aged about 30 years, S/o.Padmanaban, before this Court and set him at liberty. 2.

It is the case of the petitioner that her son Shankar, aged about 30 years, went missing from 04.11.2020 and that the police are taking effective steps to secure him. 3.

Today, Ms.G.Meena (Mobile No.94981 32543), Women Head Constable 25234, M-1, Madhavaram Police Station, Chennai, is present.

On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on a complaint given by Padmanaban (husband of the petitioner), the police have registered a case in Madhavaram Police Station Crime No.3725 of 2020 on 08.11.2020 for 'man missing' and during the course of investigation, it came to light that, Shankar (detenu) had involved himself in online trading and had to pay huge amounts to several persons, to avoid which, he has gone hiding.

Recording the same, this habeas corpus petition is closed with a direction to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Madhavaram, to monitor the investigation in Madhavaram Police Station Crime No.3725 of 2020 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when Shankar (detenu) is secured, he shall be produced before the Judicial Magistrate, Madhavaram, under intimation to the petitioner, who shall pass appropriate orders in accordance with law.
