This Writ Petition has been filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the third respondent-Police to conduct further investigation based on the first respondent's report pursuant to the petitioner's representation dated 08.06.2025.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondentPolice and perused the materials available on record.
3. The petitioner is the wife and the fourth respondent is the husband. The petitioner made a complaint as against the fourth respondent on 21.07.2024 before the third respondent-Police with regard to their family dispute. The third respondent Police after completion of enquiry, directed the petitioner to approach the District Social Welfare Officer, Chengalpet, the first respondent herein. The first respondent/Social Welfare Officer, on enquiry, found that no dowry harassment is made out as against the fourth respondent and it is only a
family dispute and sent a report to the respondent-Police. Now, the petitioner/wife seeking to conduct further investigation based on the first respondent's report pursuant to the petitioner's representation dated 08.06.2025.
4. On a reading of the petitioner's complaint, it is seen that there is no allegation of assault or any other physical violation as against the fourth respondent/husband. The main allegation is only with regard to the possession of petitioner's articles with the fourth respondent. Hence, this Court is not inclined to grant the relief as sought for by the petitioner in this writ petition. However, the petitioner/wife is at liberty to work out her remedy in the manner known to law before the competent Court.
5. In view of the above, this Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs.
