5. Varalakshmi Anandan .. Respondents PRAYER: Civil Revision Petition is filed under Article 227 of the Constitution of India, for a direction to the learned Principal District Judge, Chengalpattu to dispose of O.S.No.65 of 2023 on its file, within the time fixed by this Court.

For Petitioner : Mr.J.Vijayaraja 1/4

O R D E R

The civil revision petition seeks for expeditious disposal of O.S.No.65 of 2023 on the file of the learned Principal District Judge at Chengalpattu.

2. O.S.No.65 of 2023 seems to be a second round of litigation. The civil revision petitioner urges that earlier suit in O.S.No.49 of 2022 on the file of the learned District Munsif at Tambaram was presented by the same plaintiff. When that suit was listed for trial, the plaintiff let it go for default and thereafter, has initiated the present proceedings.

3. When the matter came up for admission, I called for a report from the learned Principal District Judge to state as to how long she requires to dispose of the said proceedings. In compliance therewith, the learned Principal District Judge has sent a report dated 21.10.2024 stating that as many as 4435 cases are pending before her at various stages under several heads. She points out that on account of the huge pendency, she is only able to take 20 cases for recording of evidence. This is apart from the onerous work of attending to the District administration work.

4. Taking into consideration the report of the learned Judge, there shall be a direction to the learned Principal District Judge, Chengalpattu, to dispose of the suit in O.S.No.65 of 2023 within a period of eight months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. Accordingly, the civil revision petition stands ordered. No costs. 23.10.2024 Index:Yes/No Speaking order/Non-speaking order kj To The Principal District Judge, Chengalpattu.
