Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to grant leave for 30 days without escort to the petitioner's husband viz., Patturajan, aged 50 years, S/o.Natarajan, detained at the Central Prison, Puzhal, Chennai. For Petitioner : Mr.R.Sasikumar For Respondents : Mr.R.Muniyapparaj Additional Public Prosecutor

O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] On 22.10.2021, we passed the following order : "This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to grant 30 days leave without escort to the petitioner's husband viz., Patturajan, S/o.Natarajan, aged about 50 years, who is detained at Central Prison, Puzhal, Chennai.

2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the State.

3.Since the petitioner's daughter's wedding is fixed on 24.10.2021, his application for ordinary leave may be treated as one for emergency leave and the same may be considered in accordance with the rules forthwith.

Call on 09.11.2021."

2. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner as well the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that emergency leave was granted to the convict prisoner for attending his daughter's wedding and accordingly, he attended his daughter's wedding and returned to the prison on 30.10.2021.

Recording the above submission of both sides, this writ petition stands closed. No costs.
