No.457 of 2022 as expeditiously as possible.

ORDER

The petitioner, who is confined in prison, is before this Court, for speedy disposal of S.C. No.457 of 2022 in which he is the first accused.

2. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned

Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that this is a case of attempt to murder where 16 accused are involved and the petitioner is the first accused; the prosecution proposes to examine 12 witnesses and since the petitioner, A2 and A6 are confined in prison, production of accused has been delayed. The learned Government Advocate further submitted that necessary steps will be taken for expeditious trial by producing witnesses. Recording the aforesaid submission of the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), this criminal original petition is disposed of directing the Investigating Officer to marshall the witnesses on the dates of hearing and cooperate for the completion of the trial, preferably, within a period of four months from today, taking note of the fact that three of the accused are in prison.
