This Criminal Original Petition has been filed under Section 482 of Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 praying to direct the 1st respondent to expedite a transparent investigation without lapses and latches and to ascertain the assets and properties of the 1st and 2nd accused jointly and separately and owned by the institutions/companies in the name of the 1st and 2nd accused jointly or separately and to impound the passport of the 1st and 2nd accused preventing them from fleeing the country till the end of investigation and till the recovery of the monies cheated by them from the petitioner.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that several persons have been cheated and the respondent has not taken effective steps in the investigation. Therefore, the present petition has been filed.
4. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that there are about 120 persons have been cheated and crores of rupees are involved and that, the investigation may take sometime.
5. Considering the circumstances of the case, the 2nd respondent is directed to investigate the case in Crime No.37 of 2016 expeditiously and take effective steps to complete the investigation.
With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
