O R D E R

The writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for records of the respondent dated 1/6

12.06.2025, quash the same and consequentially direct the respondent to admit the petitioner's son namely, V.Abinayagam in the +1 Class at the respondent School.

2.When the matter was listed on 25.06.2025, the learned Special Government Pleader sought for short accommodation to get instructions. Hence, the matter was adjourned to 03.07.2025. When the case was listed on 03.07.2025, at request, the matter was directed to be posted on 11.07.2025. When the matter is listed today, one M/s.Kavitha Dheenadayalan, learned counsel, name is printed in the cause list for the respondent, however, there is no representation for the respondent.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner's son namely, V.Abinayagam studied X Standard in the Government High School, Chitheri, Arakkonam Taluk, Ranipet District and secured 438 out of 500 marks. It is the further submission of the learned counsel that the petitioner's son stood first among the Scheduled Caste Community and in overall, he secured seventh rank. According to the petitioner, though the petitioner's son applied for +1 admission in Computer Science group, he was called for 2/6

interview in his mobile number on 11.06.2025 directing to attend the interview on 12.06.2025, when he attended the interview, he was given letter as if there was no seat. It is the submission of the petitioner that even the persons who are less meritorious are given admission.

4.To deny the said contention, there is no contra material before this Court. Hence, this Court is of the view that the petitioner being no.1 in the Scheduled Caste Community and the fact that some of the persons who secured lesser marks have been admitted, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondent to admit the petitioner's son in the Group in which he applied.

5.In the result, the writ petition is allowed. The impugned order dated 12.06.2025 is quashed. Respondent is directed to admit the petitioner's son namely, V.Abinayagam in School in accordance with his application dated 09.06.2025. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
