The relief sought by the petitioner in this writ petition is to direct the second respondent to award 5 marks in the long jump event of physical test and thereby include the petitioner in the further process of selection to the post of Sub-Inspector of Police in the recruitment process initiated by notification No.2/2019 dated 08.03.2019.

2. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the matter has become infructuous and nothing survives in this writ petition for further adjudication. He also made an endorsement to that effect in the case bundle.

by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
