This Writ Petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents to select the petitioners as Village Assistant in the light of the confirmation order passed on 24.02.2021.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that as the interview was not conducted in a proper manner as prescribed in G.O.No.574, dated 17.10.2020, the first respondent had cancelled the Notification in Ref. No.5118/2010/A1, dated 12.12.2020 and a fresh notification has been issued on 10.10.2022 for appointment of the Village Assistant in Sulur Taluk.

3. Since the Notification in Ref. No.5118/2010/A1, dated 12.12.2020, has been cancelled on 29.10.2021 and a fresh notification has been issued on 10.10.2022, nothing survives for adjudication in this petition. Therefore, the prayer sought in the present Writ Petition has become infructuous.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
