ORDER

The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police, for the offences punishable under Sections 179, 180 of BNS, 2023 in Crime No.255 of 2025, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner along with other accused was found in possession of counterfeit notes of Rs.500/- (100 numbers) in one bag and counterfeit notes of Rs.500/- (684 numbers) in another bag. Hence, the case.

3. The contention of the learned counsel for petitioner is that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. He further submitted that in this case an amount of Rs.3,42,000/- has been seized from the petitioner's motor bike, which is not belong to the petitioner. The petitioner had previous cases and 2 CSR pending against him. 2/5

To somehow arrest the petitioner, the above case has been filed. He further submitted that the co-accused/A2 has been arrested from whom, some counterfeit notes seized, which has been now projected against the petitioner. 4.The learned Government Advocate strongly opposed the petitioner's contention submitting that when the respondent police attempted to stop the petitioner, he fled from the scene and from his bike 684 numbers of Rs.500/- counterfeit notes to the value of Rs.3,42,000/- seized. As regards A2, he was arrested and from him 100 numbers of Rs.500/- counterfeit notes seized. A2 is still in jail. The petitioner has got a criminal case and 4 CSR are pending against the petitioner. Hence, he strongly opposed for granting anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5.Considering the submissions made and on perusal of the material it is seen that from the petitioner's bike 684 numbers of counterfeit notes of 3/5

Rs.500/- to the tune of Rs.3,42,000/- seized, which is of serious offence in nature. In view of the same, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Hence, the criminal original petition is dismissed. 30.06.2025 rsi To:
