Respondent Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 04.05.2016 and make necessary changes in the revenue accounts in the name of the petitioner and issue separate patta with respect to survey No.618/G3 over and extent of 13.36 acres in Thiruvotriyur Village, then Ambattur Taluk, now Thiruvotriyur Taluk, Tiruvallur District.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

The petitioner claims that his father was in possession and enjoyment of the land comprised in S.No.618/G3 admeasuring to an extent of 13.36 acres in Thiruvotriyur Village, the then Ambattur Taluk, Tiruvallur District and in the Re-settlement register, the name of the petitioner's father is reflected and after his demise, the petitioner succeeded the said estate and according to him, the land has been wrongly classified as Kazhiveli [waste], the petitioner had approached the Assistant Settlement Officer, Thiruvannamalai, for grant of ryotwari patta and it was also granted vide proceedings in Mu.Mu.No.975/2000 dated 26.07.2000. Thereafter, the petitioner has approached the Tahsildar, Ambattur, to make specific changes in the revenue https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

records and since no response is forthcoming, he submitted a representation dated 04.05.2016 and however, orders are yet to be passed and therefore, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing the present writ petition.

Heard the submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.V.S.Ramesh, learned Government Advocate who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent.

Though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the above facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the same, directs the respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's application dated 04.05.2016 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.

The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
