ORDER

The The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 11.05.2026.

2. The leaned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner claims joint ownership and possession of ancestral properties comprised in S.No. 466/3A and 466/3B1, Patta Nos. 313 and 1821, situated at Thangayur Village, Edappady Taluk, Salem District. The properties originally belonged to her late father, Muthugoundar, who died intestate in 1974, leaving the petitioner and her brothers as legal heirs. Pursuant to an oral partition effected in 1975, the properties were jointly enjoyed by her brother Sengodan and, after his demise, by the petitioner along with his legal heirs. Although the petitioner is in joint possession and enjoyment of the properties, her name was omitted from the joint pattas, while the names of her brother's legal heirs were included. Despite submitting several representations and an online application dated 11.05.2026 (Application No. 2026/0103/08/026987) seeking inclusion of her name in the

pattas and paying the prescribed fee, no action has been taken by the authorities, compelling her to file the present Writ Petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Counsel appearing for the respondents.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made by both sides, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the second respondent (Zonal Deputy Tahsildar, Edappady) to consider the petitioner's online application dated 11.05.2026. The second respondent shall pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with the law, after issuing notice to the petitioner and any other interested parties, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
