ORDER
The instant writ petition has been filed with a prayer for issuing a Mandamus, to direct the respondent to pay the interest at the rate of 18% per annum, for the period of delay from 01.07.2023 to 15.04.2025 in paying the amounts paid towards his terminal benefits namely EPF Employee's Contribution, Gratuity and Encashment of Leaves/Already Surrendered Earned Leaves within the stipulated time.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner was retired from service on 30.06.2023. However, the terminal benefits have been settled to him only on 16.04.2025 and no interest has been paid for the delayed period. In view of the same, the petitioner has submitted a representation dated 21.04.2025 to the respondent to pay interest for the delayed period. Since the same was not considered by the respondent, the present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner. 2/5

The learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent would fairly admits that in view of the similar orders passed by this Court in W.P.No.40031 of 2024, dated 06.01.2025, W.P.No.33742 of 2024; dated 12.11.2024 and W.P.No.35806 of 2024, dated 26.11.2024, the respondent is willing to pay the interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of the eligible and admissible amount.
4. Heard the learned counsel on either sides and perused the materials available on record.

In view of the above submission made by the learned Standing Counsel for the respondent, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondent to pay the eligible and admissible amount with interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of terminal benefits, from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursal of the terminal benefits of the petitioner, within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, according to its own merits and in accordance with law. 3/5
6. With the above observations, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
