ORDER
The instant writ petition has been filed to direct the 1 st respondent to pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law on the representations submitted by the petitioner on 28.10.2024 and 04.06.2025, regarding the fixation of seniority.
2. The petitioner states that he was appointed as a Fitter in the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation and subsequently promoted to the positions of Overseer and Junior Engineer. Pursuant to the order issued by the 1 st respondent Page No.2 of 6
in G.O.2D.No.4, Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department dated 27.01.2016, the petitioner was promoted as Executive Engineer in the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation and is currently posted as Executive Engineer in Tambaram City Municipal Corporation.

It is the submission of the petitioner that junior to him, who does not belong to the Civil Engineering Branch of the Coimbatore Municipal Corporation was erroneously considered for seniority and promoted based on the proceedings dated 31.10.2008 passed by the 3 rd Respondent. This has resulted in prejudice to the petitioner, as his seniority was adversely affected. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner made representations to the 1 st respondent on 28.10.2024 and 04.06.2025, which are yet to be considered by the 1 st respondent.
4. At this juncture, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents would submit that the petitioner's representations are not maintainable. Nevertheless, the learned Special Government Pleader fairly Page No.3 of 6
submits that the respondents would consider the petitioner's representation within a reasonable time.
5. In such view of the matter, without going into the merits of the writ petition, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the 1 st respondent to consider the petitioner's representations and pass orders on its own merits and in accordance with law within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
