ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, Kanchipuram, Kanchipuram district to accept the surrender of the petitioner herein concerned in Cr.No.60 of 2026 on the file of Inspector of Police, Salavakkam Police station, Kanchipuram district and consider the bail petition on the same day itself.

2. t is the case of the prosecution that on 24.05.2026, when the defacto complainant and his family were proceeding near Thulukkanathamman Temple, the accused, who was driving a tourist van, parked the vehicle in the middle of the road, thereby obstructing the movement of other vehicles. When the defacto complainant requested the accused to move the vehicle and give way, the accused allegedly abused him by referring to his caste name, which led to a verbal altercation. The incident subsequently culminated in the accused assaulting the defacto complainant and his sister, causing them injuries. Hence, the complaint.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, and the learned counsel for Government of Tamilnadu (Crl. Side) for the respondents 1 and 2.

In view of the above factual position, there shall be a direction to the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, Kanchipuram, Kanchipuram district, to consider the petitioner's bail application, preferably on the same day of his surrender, in connection with Crime No.60 of 2026 on the file of the 2nd respondent Police and to pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity to the victims under Section 15-A of the SC/ST (PoA) Act, 1989. The petitioner shall surrender before the jurisdictional Court concerned within a period of fifteen days from the date of the receipt of a copy of this order.
