O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 3rd respondent not to harass the petitioners under the guise of enquiry.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Government Advocate for the respondents.

3. Considering the submissions made and upon perusal of the materials available on record, it is seen that the dispute arises out of matrimonial discord and that the petitioners are family members of Mohammed Sheriff. The complaint was initially lodged by the wife of Mohammed Sheriff and thereafter, by his mother. Two C.S.Rs were registered, of which C.S.R.No.33 of 2026 was closed on 10.06.2026, while C.S.R.No.31 of 2026 is still pending. The petitioners have been unnecessarily called and harassed. It is further stated that all the three petitioners are Muslim pardanashin women.

4. In view of the above, if any further enquiry is required, the respondent police to visit the petitioners' place and conduct the enquiry there, instead of unnecessarily calling them to the police station. In any event, the enquiry to be completed, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
