ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking for police protection to the life and limb of the petitioner and his family members.

2.The learned Counsel for the petitioner submitted that as there was a large scale of land grabbing of high value government poramboke lands in Sivanthangal, the petitioner addressed a representation to the District Collector regarding the same on 07.07.2021 and he has also addressed another representation to the Chief Minister Cell on 26.07.2021. He further submitted that enraged by the said action of the petitioner, the respondents 3 to 6 causing life threat to the petitioner and his family members. Therefore, the petitioner has given a complaint to the police, on 22.09.2021, stating that certain rowdy elements have been engaged by the respondents 3 to 6 to attack the petitioner and this petitioner received a call of life threat and therefore, he is seeking for police protection.

3. Heard the learned Counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Additional Public Prosecutor.

4. In the facts and circumstances of the case, there shall be a direction to second respondent to consider the complaint given by the petitioner and call for an enquiry. If the First and Second respondents find that there is a potential life threat to the petitioner and his family members, they shall be provided with sufficient police protection, as per law.

5. In the result, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with the above direction.
