ORDER
By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 23.03.2026 and to issue appointment letter to the petitioner bearing reference Number NR /2021 /15560 for appointment as notary for entire Tamil Nadu.
3. It is submitted by the learned counsel for petitioner that their application for notary was rejected by the respondents. Aggrieved by the same, petitioner filed a review in terms of Rule 8(3) of the Notaries Act, 1956, on 23.03.2026. He would further submit almost six months have passed, however, no orders have been passed till date. Hence, petitioner has filed the present writ petition.
4. Learned counsel for respondents would submit that they would consider the review filed by the petitioner and dispose of the same on merits and in accordance with law, expeditiously.
5. Having heard the submissions made by the respondents, this Court is inclined to direct the concerned respondent to dispose of the review filed by the
petitioner within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of uploading of web copy without waiting for receipt of certified copy of the order, after affording a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, in accordance with law. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the case and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the case on its own merits and in accordance with law.
