ORDER

By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 2.The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 02.06.2025 and thereby direct the respondents to issue patta in Government Poromboke land situated at No.5/5, Pillaiyar Kovil Street, Sindipattu Village, Kottaipoondi Post, Melmalayanur Taluk, Villupuram District.

3.It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that petitioner is a coolie and hailing from a poor family and petitioner's family is residing in the place which was declared as Government Poramboke land. It is submitted that petitioner's father and grandfather are also residing in the said house and there is no other property owned by petitioner or his family. It is further submitted that petitioner approached the authorities on several occasions to issue patta in respect of subject property.

4.It is further submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that he submitted a representation dated 02.06.2025 before the respondents seeking patta. However, the above representation has not been considered by the respondents till date. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner has come before this Court.

5.At the outset, it is submitted by the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for respondents that the representation dated 02.06.2025 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed within a time frame fixed by this Court, which was agreed to by the learned counsel for petitioner.

6.In view of the same, considering facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for in this Writ Petition, there shall be a direction to the respondents, to consider the representation made by the petitioner dated 02.06.2025 on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law keeping in view that patta is sought to be issued in respect of lands classified as Government poramboke, after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other 3/6

interested parties/rival claimants, if any, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the representation and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the representation on its own merits and in accordance with law.
