ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction not to harass the petitioner.

2. According to the petitioner, on the complaint of one E.Prabhavaty, who is the estranged wife of the petitioner, the respondent police are constantly harassing the petitioner under the guise of enquiry. A criminal colour has been given to the matrimonial dispute.

3. The learned Government Advocate (crl.side) submitted that one Prabhavathy, who is wife of the petitioner, had lodged a complaint making serious allegations as against the petitioner on the ground of cruelty and harassment. Finding that it is matrimonial dispute,, the petitioner is called for enquiry following the Hon'ble Supreme Court guidelines, which cannot be termed as harassment.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner, on instructions, submitted that the petitioner is ready and willing to appear before the respondent police and co-operate with the enquiry.

5. In view of the same, the petitioner is directed to appear before the respondent police for enquiry on 01.11.2021 and thereafter, on future dates, if necessary.

6. With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
