ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for directing the respondents to provide employment to the petitioner on Compassionate ground.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as the learned counsel appearing for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.

3. While the petitioner's father was working as a Sub Staff in the 2nd respondent Bank, he died on 28.07.1998 due to his continuous illness. He left behind his wife, the petitioner and another daughter. After completion of degree, the petitioner submitted an application for grant of ex-gratia amount in lieu of compassionate appointment after introduction of the revised scheme. Thereafter, she also submitted an application for compassionate appointment on 26.07.2004. It is seen that admittedly, the petitioner's father died on 28.07.1998. At that juncture, the petitioner was aged only 6 years old. After efflux of long period, the compassionate appointment cannot be granted.

However, the petitioner is at liberty to make a fresh representation for ex-gratia amount in view of compassionate appointment to the respondents within a period of two weeks from receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of the same, the respondents are directed to consider the said application, if the petitioner is entitled for ex-gratia amount under the revised scheme.
