Respondents Prayer:- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, 1950, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the first and second respondents to consider the representation of the petitioners dated 12.07.2017 and on various other dates seeking to reclassify their services from Work Inspector, Grade III to Work Inspector, Grade II in the Public Works Department (Water Resources Department).

Similarly placed persons like that of the petitioners have given similar representation to the respondents and those representations have been 2/4

considered and rejected. In view of the representations filed by those persons seeking the relief of mandamus have been dismissed on 07.08.2024 by an order passed in W.P. No. 6789 of 2017.

As these petitioners have also given the same representations, there is no point in giving a direction as requested. Hence, the petitioners right can be established only if the rejection order passed by the respondents in respect of the similarly placed persons is put to challenge. 3.

In view of the above stated reasons, this writ petition is dismissed. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
