COMMON ORDER (Order of the Court was made by M.S. RAMESH, J.) Since both these Letters Patent Appeals arise out of the common order passed by the learned Single Judge in Cont.P.Nos.985 & 986 of 2025 dated 16.06.2025, they are disposed of through a common order.

2. In these Letters Patent Appeals, the proceedings of the Contempt Court dated 16.06.2025, calling upon the appellant herein to file his explanation as to why he should not be punished for having committed contempt of breach of undertaking given by him before the Court and adjourning the matter to 02.07.2025, is put under challenge before this Court.

3. The proceedings of the Contempt Court dated 16.06.2025 can neither be termed as a judgment nor an order, which could be challenged under Clause 15 of the Letters Patent Act of the Madras High Court. Rather, it can only be termed as a proceeding adjourning the Contempt Petition, against which, the Letters Patent Appeal will not lie, as held in

'Midnapore Peoples' Coop. Bank Ltd. & others Vs. Chunilal Nanda & others' reported in (2006) 5 SCC 399.

4. In the light of the above observations, these Letters Patent Appeals stand dismissed. No costs.
