This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents to allow the petitioner to participate in Certificate Verification pursuant to the Notification No.07/2022, dated 30.03.2022, in respect of Combined Civil Services Examination-IV (Group-IV), by producing the correct Community Certificate, and to change his mother's name. 2.It is the case of the petitioner that he is a Disabled Person belonging to Most Backward Class Community and he applied for Combined Civil Services Examination-IV (Group-IV) notified vide Notification No.07/2022, dated 30.03.2022. It is the contention of the petitioner that, at the time of uploading the documents, a mistake crept in, wherein, some other document was uploaded in the place of his Community Certificate. However, subsequently, the respondents permitted the petitioner to upload the correct certificate and pursuant to such
notification, necessary certificates have been uploaded by the petitioner. However, it is the grievance of the petitioner that, though he has secured 130.50 marks in the examination, he has not been called for Certificate Verification so far.
3.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner. 4.Mrs.G.Hema, learned counsel, who takes notice for the respondents, refuted the contentions of the learned counsel for the petitioner by stating that, for the category of "Disabled Persons" under Most Backward Class Community, the cut-off fixed by the TNPSC is 174 marks, but the petitioner has scored only 130.50 marks, and hence, this writ petition is liable to be dismissed.
5.In view of the submissions of the learned counsel for the respondents, even if the petitioner's case is accepted and he is permitted to participate in the Certificate Verification, ultimately, no purpose would be served and the petitioner will not come within the zone of consideration, as the cut-off mark for the Disability quota under Most Backward Class Community is 174 marks, whereas, the petitioner has scored only 130.50
marks. Hence, this Court does not deem fit to issue any positive directions in this case.
6.Therefore, this writ petition is dismissed. No costs.
