O R D E R

The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 24.03.2024 for the offence punishable under Sections 302, 449, 394, 397, 201 of IPC in Crime No.301 of 2024 on the file of the respondent police seeks bail. 1/4

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner used to extort money from the deceased and one point of time, deceased refused for which, petitioner attacked to the deceased using iron rod, due to which, deceased sustained injuries and died and thereafter petitioner committed theft of her gold jewels. Hence, the case.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. He further submitted that, petitioner is ready to abide by any stringent condition that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prayed for grant of bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) reiterated the prosecution case and opposed for grant of bail to the petitioner. He further submitted that, there are 27 witnesses in this case and the trial will be completed within a stipulated time.

5. Considering the gravity of the offence committed by the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. 2/4

6. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. The trial Court is directed to complete the trial within a period of six months from the date of receipt of copy of the order.
