Even though the respondent has been served and the name of the respondent appears in the cause list, the respondent has not chosen to appear before this Court either in person or through a pleader. Hence, the matter is decided on merits.

2. Petitioner has filed the present petition seeking transfer of F.C.O.P.No.25 of 2016 on the file of Family Court, Chengalpet, to the file of II Additional Family Court, Chennai to be tried along with M.C.No.185 of 2016.

Learned counsel for petitioner submits that the respondent/husband has filed F.C.O.P.No.25 of 2016 on the file of Family Court, Chengalpet, seeking divorce and the petitioner/wife has filed M.C.No.185 of 2016 on the file of II Additional Family Court, Chennai, for maintenance. As the petitioner/wife is residing at Chennai, she finds it difficult https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

to travel from Chennai to Chengalpet to attend the hearing of the case. Since both parties have filed petitions, it would be desirable to hear both the matters together. Submitting as above, learned counsel prays for transfer.

4. Considering the submissions made, this Court directs transfer of F.C.O.P.No.25 of 2016 from the file of Family Court, Chengalpet, to the file of II Additional Family Court, Chennai to be tried jointly with M.C.No.185 of 2016.

The Transfer Civil Miscellaneous Petition, accordingly, is ordered. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
