patta to the petitioner in respect of the land comprised in Old Survey No.55, New Survey No.36/1 measuring 6274 1⁄2 Sq.feet out of 2 acre 39 cents in Periyakanganankuppam Village, Cuddalore taluk, Cuddalore District on the basis of the proceedings of the third respondent in Na.Ka.No.Aa.1/2866/2022 dated 05.12.2022 addressed to the 2nd respondent within a time stipulated by this Court.

O R D E R

The petitioner herein seeks a direction to respondents to consider his representation dated 20.05.2024 submitted to the 2nd respondent seeking issue of patta in his name in respect of land situated in Old Survey No.55, New Survey No.36/1 measuring 6274 1⁄2 Sq.feet out of 2 acre 39 cents in Periyakanganankuppam Village, Cuddalore Taluk, Cuddalore District.

2. According to the petitioner, he purchased the above said land from one Sigamani by sale deed dated 17.09.2001 and after purchase, he has been in possession and enjoyment of the same. The petitioner submitted a 2/5

representation to 2nd respondent on 20.05.2024 seeking issuance of patta in his name based on the sale deed dated 17.09.2001. It is stated by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the 3rd respondent submitted a report to the 2nd respondent on 05.12.2022 recommending issue of patta in the name of the petitioner and no final orders have been passed by the 2nd respondent till date.

3. The learned Special Government Pleader taking notice for the respondents submitted that the reports submitted by 3rd respondent to 2nd respondent would be forwarded to District Revenue Officer and he is the competent authority to pass necessary orders.

In view of the stand taken by the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents, this Court is inclined to direct the 2nd respondent to forward the reports submitted by the 3rd respondent to concerned District Revenue Officer and the District Revenue Officer shall pass orders on merits within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of report from the 2nd respondent.
