The writ petitioner herein seeks a direction to the respondents to restore his name in the revenue records in respect of lands comprised in S.No.30/2A for an extent of 0.09.5 Hectares situated at Pogalur Village, Pernambut Taluk, Vellore District and also transfer patta for the said lands in the name of the petitioner pursuant to the order made in W.P.No.9772 of 1996 dated 07.04.2004, by considering the representations made by the petitioner dated 06.02.2017 and 17.04.2023.
2. According to the petitioner, the above mentioned land belongs to him and the same was acquired by the Tamil Nadu Government for providing house site to landless poor. The land acquisition proceedings was quashed by this Court by order passed in W.P.No.9772 of 1996, dated 07.04.2004. Thereafter, the petitioner made several representations to the respondents seeking restoration of his name in the revenue records. The last of his representation was made to the 1st respondent on 17.04.2023, subsequently, the petitioner also issued the legal notice to the 1st respondent seeking rectification of the revenue records. Even thereafter, there was no reply from the 1st respondent. Hence, the present writ petition. 2/4

It is seen from the order passed by this Court in W.P.No.9772 of 1996, dated 07.04.2004, the acquisition proceedings initiated against the land of the petitioner was quashed by this Court and there is no material on record to show that any appeal has been filed. In these circumstances, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, this Court is inclined to issue a direction to the 1st respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 17.04.2023 and pass final orders on merits, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
4. With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
