This Writ Petition is filed for a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 3 to consider the representation dated 21.04.2025 and to provide drinking water connection under Jal Jeevan Scheme to the petitioner's house bearing Door No.3/65, Yadavapuram Road, Thethakudi South, Vedaranyam Taluk, through the existing mud road from the main pipeline which is already laid on the both sides of Yadavapuram road.
2. The 4 th respondent introduced the Jal Jeevan Mission with the objective of providing safe and adequate drinking water through individual Page No.2 of 6
household tap connections to every rural household in India. The respondents 1 to 4 are implementing the said Scheme by replacing the existing drinking water scheme. While so, the 2 nd respondent while laying drinking water pipelines on both sides of Yadavapuram Road, and providing individual tap connections to the residents of the locality, excluded the petitioner and two others. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation to the 1 st respondent on 21.04.2025. Since no action was taken on the said representation, the petitioner filed the writ petition for the above stated relief.
3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that he would restrict the prayer in the writ petition to the disposal of his representation dated 21.04.2025, within a time frame fixed by this court.
4. In view of the limited prayer sought for by the learned counsel for the petitioner, direction is issued to the 2 nd respondent to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 21.04.2025, within a period of four weeks, Page No.3 of 6
from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
