2.The Petitioner is aggrieved by rejection of his request for electricity connection on the ground that CEIG certificate had not been produced to prove the rating of each motor (main motor, auxillary motor and bench grinder), since the Government Electrical Standard Laboratory at Guindy, Chennai did not have the facility to test the round type motor (without base) where it had been sent for test, as informed in the letter dated 08.07.2002.
3.In the additional counter affidavit dated 21.06.2018 filed by the Respondents, it has been stated that the said facility is available at other Government institutions in Chennai, such as, Anna University and Indian Institute of Technology for testing the capacity of motors. 4.It is informed by the learned counsel for the Petitioner that when he had sent a letter to the Petitioner to ascertain as to whether the Petitioner was willing to get his motor tested at the Centres where the facility is now available, the same has been returned with postal endorsement "not known". It appears that the Petitioner is no longer interested in pursuing the matter and no useful purpose would be served in keeping the Writ Petition pending any further.
5.In such circumstances, the aforesaid submissions made by both sides is recorded and the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. The connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
