ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by S. BASKARAN, J] The petitioner has stated that his father, aged about 65 years, was missing from 4.10.2014 and a complaint was lodged before the second respondent on 7.10.2014 and a case was registered in Cr.No.1136 of 2014. Since no effective steps had been taken, the petitioner has come forward with the present

Habeas Corpus Petition.

2. Admittedlly, the detenu was suffering from mental illness and he is 65 years old.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor has stated that the complaint given by the petitioner was registered in Cr.No.1136 of 2014 on the file of the second respondent and the investigation is on. A paper publication was also given with regard to the missing of the detenu.

4. It is apparent that two years lapsed from the date of missing of the detenu. Further, the detenu is suffering from mental illness. The respondent police is taking all-out efforts to trace the detenu.

5. In such circumstances, we are of the view that no further orders are necessary in this petition. However, the respondents are directed to continue the investigation to trace the detenu and secure him.

With the above direction, the Habeas Corpus Petition is closed.
