Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to finalise the disciplinary proceedings initiated against the petitioner in Govt. Lr.No.33293/Ser.2(2)/2011-4 dated 26.9.2011 and pass orders prior to the retirement of the petitioner on 31.8.2012 A.N.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader.

2. While the petitioner was working as Sub Inspector of Survey , the respondent initiated disciplinary proceedings against him. Charge memo in question was issued on 26.9.2011. The petitioner was not permitted to retire from service inspite of his attaining the age of superannuation on 31.8.2012. The present writ petition is filed to direct the respondent to conclude the disciplinary proceedings initiated against the petitioner in Govt.Lr.No.33293/Ser.2(2)/2011-4 dated 26.9.2011.

3. Learned Additional Government Pleader, on instructions submitted that the disciplinary proceedings initiated against the petitioner is at the final stage and appropriate orders will be passed as expeditiously as possible.

4. The respondent is directed to conclude the disciplinary proceedings initiated against the petitioner as expeditiously as possible and in any case, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
