This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 1st respondent police to transfer the investigation in Crime No.312 of 2018 pending on the file of the 2nd respondent police to the Inspector of Police, Central Crime Branch, Chennai.

2. Today, Mr.A.Nagoor Meeran, PC 43545, K6 TP Chathiram Police Station, Chennai, is present before this Court.

3. On the complaint lodged by the petitioner, the respondent police have registered a case in Crime No.312 of 2018 on 27.06.2018 under Section 380 IPC against Revathy Rajan, who is none other than the daughter-in-law of the petitioner. It is alleged by the petitioner that her daughter-in-law had taken away the original documents of the properties, fixed deposits receipts and 2 signed cheques from the house.

4. In the opinion of this Court, this is not a fit case to transfer the investigation to any other agency. However, the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kilpauk, is directed to monitor the investigation in Crime No.312 of 2018 and the same shall be completed expeditiously and either file a closure report or charge sheet, as the case may be, under due intimation to the de facto complainant.
